Re-Post of "Starlight" Gulf Spill Video

Here is the Gulf Oil Spill Disaster video I set to Slash and Myles Kennedy's song "Starlight."

Re-posting in honor of

a) Slash and Myles Kennedy's upcoming concert in Milwaukee, 09/05
b) the latest oil rig explosion 100 mi off the coast of LA and TX
c) the cool college kid at Office Depot who printed out my concert posters AND who promised to go buy Slash's CD (Holding you to it!)

Hey, it was my first video. At least the vocals and guitar are great! Read more!

Unfuck the Gulf

Picture a sea of these shirts at Lollapalooza in August in Chicago... This is one movement I can get behind. "Profits before pelicans. That's FUCKED."

Just fucking do it. Read more!

Gulf Disaster Video spreading, too

What do @Slash, @MylesKennedy, @MatthewModine and @Alyssa_Milano have in common? No, not the Old Spice guy. They are all supporting the Gulf and have re-tweeted (or cross-posted) my Gulf Disaster video. Okay--Alyssa pending... all encouragement appreciated. She has ~1 million followers. Sent to @chriscornell and @aplusk (Ashton Kutcher) but no-go yet on those. Who can you send it to?!

Let the world see what BP--and us--have done to our Gulf. Maybe then we can start to heal.

Get creative! You'd be surprised who might support you. I know I have been!! Read more!

Putting the "I" in the Environment After the Gulf Spill

"For those who are not (yet) heartless cynics or emotionless Ayn Rand acolytes, the now-famous photographs of sludge-soaked pelicans on the Gulf Coast are painful to behold. It's those hollow pupils peeking out of the brown death, screaming in silence. They are an avian version of the eyes of T.J. Eckleburg that F. Scott Fitzgerald once wrote about -- and they implicate us all."

It's just no good.

Sorry--more bad news. Even the International Bird Rescue said, "We don't know how many survive after release." The problem is that the birds have ingested so much oil, they die a slow death of organ failure once released (if you call 7 days slow) even if clean on the outside. Perhaps euthanasia is more humane. Just not as good PR for BP.

Less Than 1% of Oil-Soaked Birds Survive

Honestly, how do you recover from this?
The answer? You don't.

BP Gulf Oil Spill 2010

I am sick and tired of people bitching that the Gulf is not getting enough help or attention.

You want change? Stop waiting for everyone else to hold your hand and DO SOMETHING. WE wanted this oil. WE elected the officials that permitted this rig to be built. WE ignored more than 750 major safety violations by BP over that last several years. And now WE need to come together and TAKE CARE OF OUR PLANET.

I am the sole creator of this slideshow, or whatever it is, and it's my first one, so go easy. If you feel the urge--SHARE IT WITH EVERYONE YOU KNOW. You have my permission--at least until I get sued for copyright infringement.

I hope I have made myself clear. Read more!

The Gulf, The World

I am not ignoring this--I am overwhelmed by this. I keep posting news items and over 50 pictures so far on Facebook of the devastation, and right now I am trying my hand at amateur "film-making" with a video of stills, mostly taken by the amazing photographer Charlie Riedel.

This article does a good job of introducing him to us:
